No planning is the best planning!!

“I never had a dream come true… until the day that…..

That all these people accompanied me to take a banana boat ride at Port Dickson!”

Yeah! Dream came true!

Haha! It’s been my dream to take the banana boat ride since childhood…

In consequence of going for an excursion with a bunch of colleagues consist of engineers by the profession; we tended to make the planning of the trip way too “formal”…

I smiled when I received the below sms when our first attempt to organize the trip turned out to be a flop:-

Subject: BBQ@PD

Dear Ms,

Referring to the above matter, I would like to inform you that due to the insufficiency of participants for the above mentioned program, it has to be postponed indefinitely until further notice. Kindly take note as not to be anxious about the program for now. We regret for any inconvenience caused.

Best regards,

Auntie J

But I was really keen on taking the boat ride! Luckily the 2nd attempt in organizing succeeded.

On 2nd attempt to organize the trip: emailsSs were exchanged, all the thoughts and planning were put in an excel file, with revision numbers somemore

Casey: You people crazy, one day trip also so crazily planned!

When the day had finally come (19 Jan 2008), just as asserted by Murphy’s Law, anything that can go wrong, just went wrong! Casey was so disappointed with the planning! Haha!

Firstly, the warung forgot about the mee hoon goreng which I had placed order! Half an hour wasted there to wait for the mee hoon.

Then, it was a gridlock when we were on our way to pick Kee Yew up, another half an hour gone. So in total, I was an hour late!

To add to my gan-jeong-ness, look at the clouds above us!

Alamak! Raining at this time???? Luckily the rain stopped just in time when we reached PD.

Next, when altogether 5 cars were somewhere along the beach, miscommunication took place that we could not meet up! When someone gives you the similar instruction as follows, do you think you still can find your way?

A: How to reach where you are now?

B: Well, you go all the way straight, when you reach the third greenest tree on your left, turn right. Keep going and turn right in front of a nice apartment!

And to make thing worse, I saw this sign at the beach: NO BURNING AND CAMP FIRE ALONG THE BEACH! So my BBQ how?

But we managed to find a loophole in that statement: we had our BBQ in STOVE and AWAY FROM THE BEACH!

After all, I still had fun!!

Introducing, THE PHOTO OF THE TRIP! He just fell asleep at the beach like that…  and with him lying there like a log, he frightened the kids!

He slipped and fell on the slippery jetty twice (or thrice?) and finally learnt his lesson: walked in bow to increase stability

Poor casey… outcome of his fall at the jetty

For Gxmxdx! Share price goes up to RM6.50!!!!

Mr. Tan with his hasil tangkapan: a squid!

A happy soul! Got to share our BBQ food

Auntie J and Chen!

It’s really nice to have Auntie J for the trip: he did most of the work!

Proof: The rest just LOOKED at him doing the cleaning work…

Pak tor ke ni?

Inside the glass bottle…

“I want to walk tall, believe in myself, have the courage to ask for what I want and need, and live a life that mattered. I want to wake up in the morning with a smile on my face and know that I am loved and that I belonged. I am desperate to feel worthy and I am hungry for the opportunity to live my fullest potential.” - modified from "The Dark Side of the Light Chasers" - Debbie Ford

Under the apple tree…

"If you are not spending all of your waking life in discontent, worry, anxiety, depression, despair, or consumed by other negative states; if you are able to enjoy simple things like listening to the sound of the rain or the wind; if you can see the beauty of clouds moving across the sky or be alone at times without feeling lonely or needing the mental stimulus of entertainment; if you find yourself treating a complete stranger with heartfelt kindness without wanting anything from him or her... it means that a space has opened up, no matter how briefly, in the otherwise incessant stream of thinking that is the human mind." - A New Earth, by Eckhart Tolle

Inspiring quotes!

If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other? (God in "Evan Almighthy")
“To love another person is to see the face of God.” ― Victor Hugo, Les Misérables
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” -Mark Twain
Aggie: "But what about the people who hurt you? Don't you ever want to make them suffer?" Norman Babcock: "Well, yeah, but what good would that do? You think just because there's bad people that there's no good ones either? I thought the same thing for a while. But there's always someone out there for you. Somewhere." - Paranorman
“You're only here for a short visit. Don't hurry, don't worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way.” by Walter Hagen
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, body totally worn out and screaming "WOOOHOOOO what a ride!" - by anonymous
When you travel, it’s not like you take a part of each place away with you; rather, it’s as if you leave a part of yourself there, like a part of you forever belongs to that place – the time, the people, and the things you saw; and over time, it gets burned deeper into your soul - by anonymous
