After lunch, we were brought to a tiger mantis shrimp & crab farm.

Tiger mantis shrimps larger than the size of a palm!

A male crab! To my surprise, I was the only one among the group not knowing how to differentiate male and female crabs!
The gang poured scorn on my ignorance, “City girl!!!” The clue is to actually look at the underside of the crabs. Male crabs would have abdomens with triangular shape whereas female crabs have rounded ones.

This is a brutal way to accelerate the growth of the crabs! According to the tour guide, by dismembering the claws and legs of the crabs, the crabs will grow new legs + claws + shells which are larger in size and then the old shells will be shed. What if they can really feel pain?
